Inspired by the classic Virginia Beach sunrise at the 1st street Jetty. If you have been to Virginia Beach and haven't watched the sun cross the horizon, you did it wrong. As a local living close to Rudee inlet, I have many years of memories waking up at dawn to start the day in slow in the sand, usually with close friends and an early bird special at Big Sams.
Each 8x8 in the series is named after the date of the sunrise that inspired the artwork, made with a mix of acrylic and epoxy resin mediums. Every sky and ocean was hand-painted before 3 individual resin layers were poured to finish.
